Suspends QR Code

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has suspended the requirement for taxpayers to log in to the IRIS system using a QR code, following a complaint submitted to the Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) Regional Secretariat in Peshawar.

Complaint Addressed by FBR

The complaint highlighted difficulties faced by taxpayers due to the mandatory QR code login feature in the IRIS portal. After reviewing the issue, the FBR communicated to the FTO office that the QR code login requirement has been suspended, effectively resolving the matter.

Confirmation by FBR

In its official letter to the FTO Regional Secretariat, the FBR confirmed that taxpayers will no longer need to rely on QR codes to access the system. Tax experts welcomed the decision, noting that it would simplify the login process and reduce technical obstacles for filers.

This move is expected to make the IRIS platform more accessible and user-friendly, especially for individuals who faced difficulties using the QR-based authentication system.
