Atlas Honda has officially stepped into Pakistan’s electric vehicle market with the launch of its first-ever electric scooter, the ICON e:. This move marks a significant milestone for the company, signaling its commitment to supporting eco-friendly urban mobility in the country.
Priced Higher But Promising Quality
The ICON e: is priced at Rs. 419,900, which positions it on the more expensive end of the spectrum compared to various Chinese electric scooters already available in Pakistan. However, this higher price is being attributed to Honda’s long-standing reputation for quality, durability, and after-sales support.
While the company has not released full local specifications yet, auto experts suggest that the Pakistani version will closely mirror the model launched in Indonesia last year.
Technical Features Based on Indonesian Variant
According to details from the Indonesian release, the ICON e: is equipped with an in-wheel brushless motor capable of delivering up to 1.81 kW of peak power. It offers strong torque for smooth urban riding conditions.
The scooter is powered by a lithium-ion battery with a 30.6 Ah capacity, which takes approximately seven hours to fully charge. On a full charge, it can achieve a maximum range of up to 53 kilometers and a top speed of around 55 km/h, making it ideal for everyday city commutes.
Comfort, Safety, and Practicality Combined
To ensure a comfortable riding experience, the ICON e: features a telescopic front suspension and dual rear suspension. For safety, it comes with a hydraulic disc brake in the front and a drum brake at the rear, supported by Honda’s Combi Brake System (CBS) that enhances braking stability.
The scooter also offers a range of practical features designed for convenience and functionality. These include:
- Under-seat storage compartment
- USB charging port
- Digital display for essential ride information
- All-LED lighting system for improved visibility
Honda’s Step Toward a Greener Future
With the launch of the ICON e:, Atlas Honda is positioning itself as a reliable player in Pakistan’s growing electric vehicle landscape. As fuel prices rise and environmental concerns increase, the company aims to provide an efficient, clean, and modern alternative for urban transportation.
