Prestigious Cycling Event

Muhammad Haroon General, a UCI-certified Road Elite National Commissaire, has achieved a historic breakthrough for Pakistan by being officially selected to officiate at the prestigious Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Tour de l’Avenir in France. The event will run from August 23 to 29, 2025.

First Pakistani Commissaire in Europe

This milestone marks the first time in history that a Pakistani commissaire has been chosen to officiate at a UCI-recognized cycling race in Europe. Haroon’s appointment followed an exceptionally competitive selection process in which only six commissaires were chosen from across Asia, Africa, South America, and Central America. His inclusion in this elite group has placed Pakistan firmly on the map of international cycling governance.

A Major Step for Pakistan Cycling Federation

The Pakistan Cycling Federation (PCF) hailed Haroon’s achievement as a landmark moment for the nation’s sporting community. PCF President Syed Azhar Ali Shah extended his congratulations, emphasizing that the recognition highlights Pakistan’s growing presence in international cycling administration.

Expressing his gratitude, Haroon thanked Dubai Islamic Bank for sponsoring his journey and acknowledged the unwavering support he has received from the PCF leadership.

A Journey of Dedication and Passion

Haroon’s cycling journey began in 2010, and through relentless effort, discipline, and commitment, he has steadily risen to prominence. His success is seen not only as a personal triumph but also as a symbol of hope and inspiration for Pakistan’s future in the global cycling arena.

By breaking this barrier, Haroon General has opened the door for more Pakistani officials and athletes to make their mark in international competitions, paving the way for the next chapter of the country’s sporting progress.
