Ismail Industries Limited (ISIL), one of Pakistan’s leading manufacturers of confectionery and snack products, has announced its plans to establish a wholly owned subsidiary in Spain, marking a significant milestone in its international growth strategy.

The company shared the development in a notice submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Thursday.

Strategic Move Toward Europe

“The Board of Directors of Ismail Industries Limited, through circular resolution, has resolved to establish a wholly owned subsidiary of the company in Spain, Europe, subject to all applicable regulatory approvals,” the notification stated.

According to the company, this move represents a key step in ISIL’s long-term vision of expanding its global footprint and bringing its popular brands to international markets.

The Spanish subsidiary is expected to serve as a gateway to strategic consumer markets across the European Union (EU), which is among the world’s largest and most lucrative markets.

About Ismail Industries

Founded in 1988 as a private limited company and later converted into a public limited company in 1989, Ismail Industries has become one of Pakistan’s most recognized food and packaging companies.

The company operates across multiple product segments, including:

  • Confectionery (under the brand Candyland)
  • Biscuits (under the brand Bisconni)
  • Snacks & potato chips (under the brand Snackcity)
  • Packaging films (under the brand Astro Films, producing CPP and BOPET films)

Previous International Expansion

This is not the company’s first international venture. In 2023, Ismail Industries announced the creation of a wholly owned subsidiary in Abu Dhabi, UAE, as part of its strategy to strengthen its global reach and diversify market presence.

Looking Ahead

By setting up its operations in Spain, Ismail Industries is positioning itself to directly access and compete in the European market, where demand for high-quality confectionery, snacks, and packaged foods continues to grow.

This expansion not only reflects the company’s ambition to become a global player but also highlights the growing international recognition of Pakistani brands in the food and FMCG sector.
