Bahria Town has moved the Supreme Court of Pakistan to contest the Islamabad High Court’s decision that permitted the auction of several of its properties.
The appeal, filed through senior lawyer Farooq H. Naik, urges the apex court to overturn the High Court’s judgment, labeling it as unlawful and seeking it to be declared null and void.
In addition to challenging the ruling, Bahria Town has requested an urgent hearing of its petition. The developer has also appealed to the court to halt the scheduled auction of its assets, which is set to take place on August 7, 2025, until the Supreme Court delivers its final verdict on the matter.
This legal action comes shortly after the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) announced on Tuesday that it would proceed with the auction of several prime properties owned by real estate magnate Malik Riaz on the same date, August 7.
The case has now gained significant attention, with the Supreme Court expected to make a key decision in the coming days that could have wide-ranging implications for the ongoing accountability drive and the future of Bahria Town’s contested assets.
