LDA Kicks Off Sealing Operations in Multiple Housing Societies

The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has sealed 57 properties across multiple housing schemes in the provincial capital during a major operation targeting illegal commercial activities and defaulters of commercial fees.

According to an official statement released on Wednesday, the LDA Town Planning Wing led the enforcement drive against properties violating building and zoning regulations.

Illegal Constructions and Fee Defaulters Targeted

The sealed properties included a wide range of establishments such as wedding halls, marquees, private banks, grocery stores, showrooms, property offices, clinics, and shops operating without proper authorization or fee payment.

The LDA said the operation is aimed at ensuring compliance with land use and commercialization laws, warning that strict action will continue against violators in all housing schemes under its jurisdiction.

Action in Key Areas of Lahore

The enforcement teams conducted operations in major areas, including Ferozepur Road, Gulberg, Model Town, Main UBD Canal Road, and Mustafa Town.

According to the LDA:

  • 21 properties were sealed on Ferozepur Road,
  • 10 properties on Main UBD Canal Road, and
  • 16 properties in Gulberg and Model Town.

Most of these buildings were found to be used for unauthorized commercial purposes or had defaulted on commercialization fees, officials said.

LDA Vows Continued Crackdown

An LDA spokesperson stated that the authority will intensify monitoring and enforcement operations to ensure all commercial properties comply with legal requirements. “No illegal or non-paying business will be allowed to operate in violation of LDA rules,” the spokesperson emphasized.

The authority also urged property owners to regularize their commercial activities and clear outstanding dues to avoid legal action.
