Team India extended their unbeaten streak in the Asia Cup 2025 Super Four stage, securing a convincing 41-run win over Bangladesh at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.
India’s Explosive Start, Middle-Order Stumble
Opting to bat first, India got off to a blazing start as Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill tore into the Bangladeshi attack, piling up 72 runs in the powerplay. Abhishek was the standout, unleashing a series of crisp strokes to set the tone for the innings.
Despite the strong platform, India faltered in the middle overs. A sudden collapse slowed their momentum, with wickets falling at crucial stages. From a commanding 112 for 2 in 12 overs, India could only manage 168 for 6 at the end of their 20 overs.
Bangladesh Falter in the Chase
Chasing a target of 169, Bangladesh needed steady partnerships but failed to sustain any. Their opener provided resistance with a gritty 69 off 51 balls, keeping his team’s hopes alive. He found some support from Parvez Hossain Emon (21), but beyond that, the batting lineup fell apart alarmingly. None of the other batters crossed double digits, as Bangladesh were bundled out for 127 in 19.3 overs.
India’s Bowlers Seal the Win
The Indian bowling unit once again proved its mettle. Kuldeep Yadav was the star, producing a brilliant spell of 3 wickets for just 18 runs in his four overs. Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakravarthy chipped in with two wickets each, ensuring Bangladesh never really threatened the target.
March Toward the Final
The victory reinforced India’s status as the team to beat in the tournament. With strong performances in both batting and bowling, the Men in Blue remain on course for a place in the Asia Cup 2025 final.
