Substantial Financial Support for Scholars
Under this program, successful applicants will receive CAD 40,000 per year for a maximum of three years. The funding is designed to allow researchers to focus entirely on their doctoral work without the added burden of financial pressures.

- Be enrolled in a recognized PhD program at a Canadian university.
- Have completed no more than 36 months of doctoral studies by December 31, 2025.
- Students pursuing joint programs such as MD/PhD or MA/PhD are also eligible, provided their studies include a research-based thesis.
Application Process and Deadline
Interested candidates are required to apply through the Canadian institution where they are currently enrolled. Each university will forward applications for consideration.
The final deadline for submission is October 17, 2025.
Canada’s Push for Global Research Collaboration
The Canadian government emphasized that the Graduate Research Scholarship program is aimed at attracting the world’s top researchers, fostering innovation, creativity, and knowledge exchange. By offering this opportunity to students from Pakistan and beyond, Canada is reinforcing its position as a global hub for advanced research and development.
This initiative follows closely after Bangladesh’s announcement of 500 scholarships for Pakistani students, reflecting a growing wave of educational cooperation and research-based partnerships across the region.
Experts believe such programs not only promote academic excellence but also build stronger international ties through education and shared knowledge.
