Abrar Ahmed Breaks Into ICC Top 10 as Pakistan Stars Shine

Pakistan’s dominant 3-0 ODI series sweep over Sri Lanka has brought major rewards in the latest ICC rankings update, with spinner Abrar Ahmed making one of the biggest jumps. Abrar surged 11 places to break into the top 10, now holding the ninth spot in the ICC Men’s ODI Bowler Rankings after a standout performance throughout the series.

Pacer Haris Rauf also climbed the ladder, moving up five places to 23rd, further reinforcing Pakistan’s growing bowling strength. The team’s success was reflected in the batting charts as well, with Mohammad Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman each rising five positions to 22nd (joint) and 26th, respectively.

While Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan retains his position as the world’s No.1 ODI bowler, Pakistan’s strong displays have helped several of their players record significant improvements.

In T20I rankings, Mohammad Nawaz enjoyed a boost following his Player of the Match performance against Zimbabwe in the home tri-series. Nawaz jumped four places to 27th among bowlers and two places to eighth among all-rounders after contributing an unbeaten 21 and two wickets in Rawalpindi.

Meanwhile, New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell has claimed the No.1 spot in the ICC Men’s ODI Batting Rankings for the first time. His superb century against the West Indies propelled him past Rohit Sharma, ending the Indian skipper’s reign at the top. South Africa’s Temba Bavuma also made noteworthy gains in the Test rankings.
